Dmitry KOLOMOITSEV
Dmitry Kolomoitsev was born in 1976 in Donetsk, Ukraine.
In 2015, Dmitry joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and participated in the defense of the city of Shchastya (Luhansk region).
The key motive of the artist's work is the discovery of new dimensions of famous Ukrainian and World symbols. Irony and stillness are inextricably intertwined in his paintings, giving images of Ukrainian culture and everyday life a new sound both in the context of the war in Donbass and in the context of general human civilization.
Before 2015 he spent about ten years traveling in Southeast Asia: India, Thailand, and Cambodia. Life in Asia had a profound effect on the work of Dmitry Kolomoitsev and imbued it with the spirit of Eastern philosophy, which, according to the artist, can help reconcile many specific Ukrainian social contradictions.
